Easton Hates:
diaper changes

I am so behind on posting this darn update. Easton celebrated his 1st birthday last month on the 14th. We had a little party with family on the 9th. We had water balloons and some splash pools set up for the kids while the adults enjoyed some delicious BBQ and way too many sweets! Easton was spoiled by his family and seemed to enjoy being the center of attention.

Easton has officially entered into toddlerdom. I am loving this phase and all of its naughtiness ;) He has learned so many new things. He is starting to imitate noises and sounds. He can say dada, momma, yeah, uh uh(no), gog (dog), duck, eat, baby, jesus, vroom vroom, cheese, shoes, woo woo (woof woof for dog noise) quack, ribbit, and probably a few more that I am missing.

He started walking about 10 days ago. Papa Bill witnessed it before anyone else. He looks like baby Frankenstein and I love it! He loves to push and pull things anywhere and everywhere. He has a little walker that he maneuvers all over the house. He is obsessed with taking something out of a container or drawer or cupboard and putting it into another container. I find some pretty random stuff in some very random places :)

He loves to snuggle with his blanket anytime of day but especially before nap and bed time. He can give kisses now and is so proud of himself when he does it. We are so incredibly in love with our baby boy. He is reaching such a fun interactive time in his life. What a joy he is to us all!

11 months old!!!!

Easton James
11 months

Easton loves:
baths
binkies
blankets
strawberries
bananas
cheese
trucks

Easton hates:
sitting still
being reverent in church
getting his diaper changed
going to the doctor

This post is way overdue.  I was meaning to post weeks ago and have just been so lazy about it.  Easton is everywhere these days.  He finally started doing a normal crawl (no more crazy fast army crawl).  He cruises around pretty much every surface in the house and pulls up on everything. He will stand unsupported for a few seconds.  He has mastered the stairs.  Up and down which is quite impressive.  He is like his daddy and figures things out very quickly.

He loves to open and close doors and drawers.  His little fingers are in grave danger most of the time.   He loves Casey and when I say "Where's daddy"  he looks around for him and says dada.  His newest word is "uh oh".  I love how it sounds but love even more how adorable his little mouth looks while saying it. He has also started saying "vroom vroom" and "woof woof"   He learned how to point recently and loves to point at the most random things.

Easton's infinity for being a stinker is getting stronger everyday. He tests both Case and I and has even started shaking his finger at us and saying nuh nuh. "no no" He thinks its a game to rush to things he isn't allowed to touch.  Despite his mischievous little personality he melts me everyday.  I can't imagine life without my little stinky!

Is this really my kid?

Sometimes I look at Easton and cannot believe he is mine. Case and I, with Heavenly Fathers help, created this amazing little person! Easton is filled with personality and brings so much joy. I am afraid I maul the poor kid daily and smoother him in smooches constantly. I cannot get enough of him. I love him and feel so blessed he belongs to me. I think he is pretty dang cute if I do say so myself ;)

mommy

baby einstein
juice

Easton Hates:
bibs
being wiped
getting dressed
having his diaper changed

A lot has changed in this past month. Easton is now a very fast scooter. He likes to stand holding on to things and he cruises around the furniture very slowly. He loves for us to hold his hands and walk/run him around the house. The faster we go the more he enjoys it. His little legs getting moving so fast and he can totally keep up. Both Case and I think he will be a speedy little bugger. He also tries to climb over or lunge off of everything.

He loves playing peekaboo with blankets. He can now wave bye bye, clap his hands, and give high fives. He insists on feeding himself and finally figured out how to hold his sippy cup. He is a very determined young man. He decided he was done nursing and basically weaned himself. At first I was really sad, but now I am loving the freedom of not having to pump at work!!!!

Easton makes the funniest noises. He always trills his tongue and makes these high little yelping noises. He says bah bah, momma, dada, and yeah. Yeah is my favorite and it kinda of sounds like uh yeah.

He is starting to learn how to be a stinker. He will look at Casey or I right before he is about to do something naughty and will shakes his head no, no. He can also shake his head yes but uses no a lot more often. He also has started throwing things out of the high chair, bath, shopping cart, car seat, etc.... He thinks he is hilarious. He also gets very upset when we take something away from him that he wants but shouldn't have. He basically flings himself on the floor crying. Isn't that supposed to happen during the terrible twos? We are in trouble!!!

Easton is really starting to love his books. This makes my heart happy as I am a fellow book lover. He can turn the pages on his own and will pat the characters and feel the little touch and feel patches on each page. He babbles the whole time like he is reading the story out loud.

We are so in love with our little man and feel like the time is flying by way too fast. It has been hard for me to let go of my sweet little baby and see him get closer and closer to the toddler stage. I kind of want to freeze time for a little while and just keep Easton little. I am sure many other moms feel the same way. Its hard to watch your babies grow up!!

Easton's first Easter

Easter has always been on of my favorite holidays. I remember that getting a pretty new dress was such a big deal to me. Well and the candy is the best candy all year!
I had a hard time picking out E's Easter outfit. I found the jacket and those adorable socks first and knew I had to have white shorts to go with them. This was not an easy task. When I finally found some they were $32!!!! I couldn't justify spending that much on something he was bound to wear only a few times and probably ruin anyway. After much heartache over walking away from the $32 pair, H&M came to the rescue. I think the outfit turned out to be darling. The tiny Sperry's were just the icing on the cake. I thought he looked so adorable I just had to do a photo shoot.
He didn't really care much about anything in his basket aside from the paper grass. He wanted to eat it so bad!!! Silly baby boy. It was a fun first Easter for our little man. So thankful for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He has given us everything and brings so much peace and joy!

9 months old!!!

9 months

love me some bare skin ;)

Easton James
9 months old
17.75 Lbs
28.5 ''

Easton Loves:
eating
moving
dancing
mommy
daddy
blankets
binkies
baths

Easton Hates:
being left alone
getting dressed
sitting still
having his hands held
getting his face wiped

Easton is moving all over the place now. He is a super fast scooter and is very determined to get where he wants to go. Changing his clothes and diaper have gotten ridiculous. I have to bribe him with all kinds of shiny objects, I otherwise would not let him have, just to get him to hold still for 5 seconds while I get his diaper off and a new one on. (cute and silly but also kind of stinkerish and buggy).

Easton still loves Baby Einstein, but he no longer will sit through the whole thing. He gets distracted with all of the potential for destruction around him. Whenever music plays he kind of bounces to the beat. So adorable. He has also learned to shake his head no. He still doesn't have the exact right context of when to use it, but its adorable.

Easton has 6 teeth now. Two bottom and four top. The top four took forever to cut though the gums and they made him miserable. He also got a nasty earache about 3 weeks ago. I was devastated to see my baby so sad and in pain.

Easton loves to eat solids!! He will open his mouth to anything I offer. He especially loves cheese and oranges. He gets ticked when I take the rind away from him. He also babbles as he eats. The second food hits his mouth he starts to make noise. (very "What About Bob")

We went to the park for the first time last week and he loved the swings and the slide. Easton loves being outside and going for walks. I am so excited that the weather is getting warmer. We will be spending a lot more time outside now!

Melty.....

Oh this baby boy brings so much joy into my life! I cannot express what it means to me to have the opportunity to raise this precious angel. Being a mother is the most amazing, tiring, confusing, exciting, and joyous calling I have ever been given. The poor kid basically gets smothered in kisses all day everyday. Love my baby boy.

Happy Boy

Last time in the bumbo :(
(shortly after this picture he flopped
out of the bumbo. Luckily I had
moved it to the floor!)

Easton Loves:
baby einstein
mommy
dancing
banging toys together
baths
straps, strings, cords
binkies
riding in the shopping cart

Easton Hates:
getting dressed
having anything on his face wiped
blenders
sitting still
having toys taken away

Time is flying! I look at my baby boy and wonder how he got so big so fast. Easton is becoming very independent. He wants to feed himself and turn the pages of his book and hold whatever somebody else has. He no longer wants to sit still on my lap. He practically flings himself towards whatever he wants.

He is quite the scooter and roller. His scooting is hilarious. It is more like a swim stroke than actual scooting but it gets him where he wants to go.

He finally got his top two teeth after weeks of being a little miserable and a lot drooly! He has a fierce bite. I have to watch my fingers. He did the dreaded bite while nursing the other day. It was a product of him being tired and not really aware but man it hurt and made me jump!

We found out last night E has a nasty earache. He was screaming or crying a good portion of the day and by 7 p.m. he had a pretty high fever so we took him to the Dr. Poor little man was the most miserable I have ever seen him. It broke my heart. He is doing much better today though and is on an antibiotic to get rid of the infection. So glad my happy little guy is feeling more like himself.

Easton is the joy of our lives. His spirit is so sweet, fun, and goofy. He makes us laugh and smile all of the time. We are so blessed by this little man.

7 Months Old!!!!

so stinkin cute

too funny not to share
(he was so over our photo shoot)

Easton James
7 months

Easton Loves:
his binki
baby einstein
splashing in the bath
mommy
books
making loud noises

Easton Hates:
getting dressed
being lotioned
having his nose picked
hair clippers

Easton is sitting up now and rolling all over the place. He will sit and play with toys on his own. (such a big boy ) Its fun to see his little mind working as he explores all the things that are now within his reach because he can move around. We've had to be a lot more careful about leaving the room when E is on the ground. He's fast and he rolls into the weirdest places. I have found him under chairs and high centered on toys.

He is so noisy lately. He babbles and yells all of the time. He has this nasty little scream that he started a few weeks ago. Both Casey and I despise it and we are trying to teach him its not ok to scream. UGH!!!

He is a little piggy! He eats solids so well now. Just the other day he finished two full containers of baby food in one sitting. At first I was worried the poor little guy was starving, but then I realized who is father is and what that guy can eat. I guess Case passed on his impressive appetite to our son.

Casey gave him his first haircut a few weeks ago. He didn't take off too much and E's hair really does look better, but it was hard for me to watch my baby get his first haircut.

Love our silly monkey so much!!! I kind of want time to stand still though because my baby is growing up way too fast. He recognizes both Case and I really well now and will kick with joy when either of us walk into a room. ( melts me) What a joy Easton is in our lives.

E loves to hang out by the tree

Little E is six months old today. My heart is breaking because my baby is getting so big. The time is flying by way too fast. Every day we love him more and feel so blessed to have this silly baby boy in our lives.

Easton has his two bottom teeth now. He is constantly gnawing on anything and everything including fingers so watch out! His drooling has reached a new level of impressiveness. If I don't put a bib on him I have to change his clothes after about 1o minutes because he is dripping wet.

He now reaches for things with both arms stretched out. ( so adorable) He is becoming more and more snugly. He loves silly voices and has this funny little half laugh he does that melts me. Each morning after he wakes up we go visit Grandma Chrispy and Easton dances for us in the mirror. He moves his little legs so fast like he's doing an irish jig. We love it!!

Easton is a happy boy and generally doesn't fuss. He is becoming more vocal and will just yell happily all of the time. He is mesmerized by Baby Einstein and would watch for hours if we would let him.

Easton Loves:
bath time
baby einstein dvds
his blue teddy bear
dancing
funny voices
his bink

Easton Hates:
getting dressed
having his face wiped
having his nose picked
baby einstein toy that makes animal noises

My Heart......

....belongs to this yummy baby boy!

5 Months Old!!!

Easton 5 months

Easton Loves:
green beans
pulling off his socks
reaching for everything
baby einstein
bath time

Easton Hates:
having his nose wiped
being left alone
getting dressed

I cannot believe how fast the time goes. E's first tooth broke through this past week and he rolled from back to belly for the first time a few days ago. He is entertaining the idea of scooting. He tries so hard to move and gets very frustrated when it doesn't happen. He is getting really good at eating solids. He really loves green beans and seems to not care for peaches. He has found his feet and tries to shove them in his mouth any chance he gets. He still drools like a St. Bernard ;) Easton is a very happy baby. He is really good at napping during the day and is getting better at night. He makes everyone around him happy. His smiles are the best and his laughs and coos melt our hearts daily. Life with him around is heaven!

Chillin

Happy Halloween

Easton's first Halloween was a busy one!! Saturday night we went to Great Grandma and Grandpa Pyper's neighborhood to trick or treat with all of the cousins. Sunday we got together with both sides of the family for a delicious taco dinner and then a lively round of "Cackle Witch Cackle". Monday night we went to Claudia's for chili, cornbread, and homemade doughnuts!!! We had lots of long days and late nights and E was a champ! He is becoming such a mellow good baby! He looked adorable in his little skeleton outfit and his "mummy loves me" jammies. E's skeleton outfit glows in the dark and so we would turn out all of the lights and have him dance in front of the mirror. It was hilarious and Easton loved it ;)

4 months old!!!

Easton at 4 months:
14 lbs 4 oz
25.5 inches

Easton Loves:
grabbing things and shoving them in his mouth
going from sitting to standing with moms help
assisted sit ups
tummy time
bath time
baby mozart

Easton Hates:
having his nose prodded for boogers
being strapped into the car seat
being hot
waiting for food

Easton is a tall little guy with just the perfect amount of chub! He is growing nicely and is reaching milestones right on track. He has just started entertaining and talking to himself. I can tell he loves the sound of his voice. When he is chilling with his toys he gets really serious and it's almost like he is yelling at his toys. It is hilarious.

He is very social and loves watching people. He gives smiles freely and is laughing much more often now and for longer periods of time. He currently loves to dance in front of the mirror with mom. His favorite song is "The Itsy Bitsy Spider".

Easton went through a two week period of constipation. So horrible for everyone!!!! He was miserable and so were Case and I. After lots of diluted fruit juice, tummy massages, rectal stimulation, and finally several suppositories, our little guy is back on track and pooping all on his own!!! Hooray. (sorry if that is tmi, but I wanted to write it down so I have a record of it)

I was so desperate to help E sleep better that I decided to revisit swaddling (so many of my friends swear by it) I went online and read several articles about swaddling and different techniques. The first time I tried it he fell asleep within 1 minute. Miracle!!!!! It was always such a struggle to get E to sleep and now it's no big deal. He does still wake up more than I would like at night, but he always goes right back to sleep after eating or putting the binki back in. Why oh why did I not figure out swaddling earlier? ;))

We love our little man and cannot believe how much he is changing and growing. He is becoming more adorable everyday. He is our biggest source of entertainment. We love watching him be the silly baby that he is!

On the Move!

Easton is officially rolling over. The first time he did it he kind of scared himself and looked really worried but then broke into a huge smile because he was no longer on his tummy. (victory) He used to detest being on his tummy but is now starting to enjoy tummy time. While on his tummy he scrunches his legs up and tries to get on his knees! This is very alarming to me because he is still so little. I am not ready for my baby to start moving but he has other plans. He has been a mover and shaker since day one. He rarely holds still.

He is becoming more vocal and loves to hear himself gab. When he is tired he gets this really serious tone that makes me giggle. He is going to be a goofball like his dad. He loves to be silly and has the most adorable smile in the world!

He has started falling asleep in his crib which is a miracle! I usually had to rock him or nurse him to sleep or there was serious screaming. We decided to practice the extinction method and let him cry himself to sleep. (so sad ) It works! We still aren't perfect (all 3 of us sometimes struggle) but for the most part it has gone very well and he really only cries for a few minutes at the most now! I believe this helps him sleep longer and he is able to put himself back to sleep when he wakes up at night. Wahoo for better sleeping at the Bacon's!!

Easton has started to recognize his food! When I get ready to nurse he holds his hands out and tries to grab on. So adorable. With his bottle he grabs on and brings it to his mouth. Such a little smarty pants. He is so impatient with his food so it's really funny to watch him frantically reach for it!

Easton loves sitting in the bumbo. He also really enjoys watching Baby Mozart from the Baby Einstein series. It's 18 minutes of guaranteed time for me to get things done!

We are moving!!! Casey has decided to go back to BYU for winter semester and finish a BA in Computer Science. We are going to live with his parents in Provo to save some cash and have help with E when we can't coordinate work and school schedules. We are excited for this little adventure and feel great about this next step in our lives. We are sad to be leaving our fabulous apartment and our wonderful friends and especially moving away from Kim and her fam! We will have to come back to PG often to visit our peeps!

3 months old!!!!

Easton loves his squishy ball

3 months old

Easton is 3 months old today! E is getting so big and is becoming so much fun to play with. He is very interactive and talkative. He has a full belly laugh now and loves when Case and I sing to him and play little games with him.

He is very close to rolling over. He scoots in circles by kicking his legs and pushing off of things. He loves to grab things and put them in his mouth. He especially loves to do this with blankets. He loves his squishy ball (because it is so light and easy to grab) and he also loves his baby einstein music toy.

Easton drools constantly. He is pretty much dripping with drool. He reminds me of a little hound dog with his droopy cheeks and all of that drool ;) He still loves his bath and still hates to sleep. He is getting better at night but it's always a struggle to get that boy to go to sleep!

We love him more everyday and are having so much fun getting to know him and his goofy personality.
